QR Code Generator & Scanner
Type a link, text or Wi-Fi details to get a QR code you can download as PNG, or switch to Scan to read one with your camera or from a photo.
How to make a QR code
- Choose text, a link or Wi-Fi, then type the content.
- The QR code appears as you type. Tap Download PNG to save it (about 1024 px with a white border).
- Scan it with your phone camera once before you print or share it.
Everything happens in your browser, so the generator works offline once the page has loaded. The codes are static: the content is stored in the pattern itself, so they never expire, but you can't change the link later.
Wi-Fi QR codes
A Wi-Fi code holds text like WIFI:S:MyHome;T:WPA;P:12345678;; (S network name, T security, P password, H:true for a hidden network). Most phone cameras offer to join the network when they read it. Characters such as ; , : " \ are escaped for you.
Error correction and capacity
| Level | Restorable | Max bytes (version 40) |
|---|---|---|
| L | 7% | 2,953 |
| M | 15% | 2,331 |
| Q | 25% | 1,663 |
| H | 30% | 1,273 |
Level M is the default. This tool accepts up to 900 bytes so phones can read the code easily.
Scanning safely
Scan with the camera or pick a photo. Links are shown in full before you open them, because QR stickers in public places can lead to phishing sites ("quishing"). Korean authorities advise not scanning codes from unknown sources, and switching to airplane mode and removing the app with antivirus software if a malicious app gets installed.

FAQ
Do these QR codes expire?
No. The content is stored in the pattern itself, so the code works as long as the link it points to does.
How do I make a Wi-Fi QR code?
Choose Wi-Fi, enter the network name, security type and password. Guests can then join by pointing their camera at it.
Can I scan a QR code on a computer?
Yes. Use Read QR from a photo and pick a screenshot or image that contains the code.
