FAQ
Is weekly holiday pay included in a monthly salary?
Usually yes. The standard 209 monthly hours for a 40-hour week already include the paid weekly holiday. If you are paid hourly or daily, holiday pay must be added separately.
What if my employer doesn't pay it?
Not paying weekly holiday pay is a wage violation under the Labor Standards Act. You can file a petition with the regional Ministry of Employment and Labor office; wage claims expire after 3 years.
Do I get it if I work under 15 hours a week?
No. Workers averaging under 15 contracted hours a week over four weeks are excluded from weekly holiday pay and annual leave.
